ABOUT
MY STORY
Wild Cyan & Harris began with a simple fascination for the cyanotype process. What started as experimentation quickly grew into a focused practice centred on the distinctive blue prints created by this historic photographic technique.
Cyanotype is one of the earliest photographic printing methods, using light-sensitive chemistry and sunlight to produce its recognisable deep blue tones. Each print is created by hand, using carefully arranged natural materials and considered compositions before being exposed to daylight and developed in water. The result is a print that carries both precision and unpredictability, no two are exactly the same.
Over time, the process has become more refined. What began as learning and exploration has developed into a dedicated practice focused on improving composition, consistency and print quality. Attention is given to every stage, from selecting botanical forms to preparing the paper and developing the final image.
Today, Wild Cyan & Harris produces handcrafted cyanotype prints inspired by natural forms and the quiet detail found in everyday landscapes. Each piece is made individually, embracing the traditional process while continually improving the craft behind it.
